Singaporeans love buffets but having a super sweet tooth, I love high tea buffets more 😀 Besides the tea lounge at Regent Hotel, L’espresso is also 1 of the top choices for high tea lovers. The nesthouple read great reviews on L’espresso and was excited to get our hands on the new pastries recently added into the updated English Afternoon Tea menu!
Craving for some old school dim sum away from the buzz, we arrived at a roadside coffee shop near Kovan Station on a weekday morning. With numerous cafes popping up regularly, it’s hard to find one that stands out. I Am cafe stood out to the nesthouple as it’s a halal cafe. I Am, located at Haji Lane, is a short 10 mins walk away from Bugis MRT. The cafe doesn’t take reservations & we were surprised to see a queue despite our visit on an early weekday night.
Thanks to a Groupon deal at $8.90 (weekday) & $9.90 (weekend), the nesthouple went down to Cali Cafe for a buffet breakfast worth $23.90 as the offer was too good to be missed! Located at a walking distance from Buona Vista MRT and next to the Star Mall, the nesthouple enjoyed the serene stroll on an early Sat morning to Rochester Mall.
The much hyped up world’s first cafe fest took place at waterfront promenade on 6th & 7th Sept. Besides the convenient & scenic location, disappointment is the word to sum up our cafe fest experience.

If you’re getting bored of city life yet do not have enough time for an overnight getaway, St John’s & Kusu island is perfect for a day getaway! The best time to visit these islands is a Sunday/ Public Holiday due to the more frequent ferry timings and if you’re worried about the crowd, fret not! The nesthouple island-hopped on a PH and had plenty of space & peace to ourselves.
